500 people evacuated from burning Italian ferry

More than 500 people were evacuated by lifeboats from an Italian ferry after a fire broke out aboard her, reported Monday. Five passengers including a pregnant woman were taken to hospital. Vincenzo Florio ferry was traveling from Naples to Palermo. From local police reported that 526's passengers were evacuated and transferred to another ferry and Coast Guard vessels.

The crew remained on board along with firefighters in extinguishing the flames.
