Several earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.5 to 5.2 on the Richter scale were registered in the U.S. state of California reported on the site of the U.S. Geological Service. The epicenter of the earthquakes is 11 km. Kiilar south of the city and 18 km. from Olancha city located in central California.

12 people died and 30 received burns in a fire in the coal mine in southern Poland, the Polish PAP news agency forward. Authorities believe the fire at the mine "Vuyek" near Katowice, was caused by a gas leak Colliery. Most of the 38 miners who worked at the site were evacuated.
